Gelato is a delightful cross of Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies coming natively from the Bay area of California.
As you would expect from the name, Gelato carries a fruity, dessert like aroma. The diverse terpene profile provides a complex flavour that has been described as sweet, citrus, earthy, mint, berry, cookie, and even lavender.
The buds of Gelato almost always retain dark purple hues, with fiery orange pistils, topped in an excessive amount of trichomes.
The effect of Gelato typically has a very strong physical relaxation effect, while also being well balanced enough to retain focus and productivity.

I’ve grown this strain for 3 runs inside now and my first outside (southern Ontario Canada) it’s an amazing plant, easy to grow, awesome taste/smell and just covered in crystals.
This plant is super resistant to the bad weather outside.
I’m a huge lover of the super lemon haze and this tops that plant.
Everyone who’s tried it loves it.
I grow it with Gaia green (444/284) and worm castings with a couple teas mixed in with molasses (very easy to do) and it’ll give you amazing results.
Once again, CANUK provides another quality cannabis strain. She was aggressive, responded well to HST & LST with little recovery time. SCROG setup proven to allow her to produce high yields. Proper flush / 35 day cure and beautiful, like a vintage bourdeaux. Definitely happy with this strain.
I grew this outdoors in Michigan it was very impressive 10×10 2050g no bugs mildew or mold harvested October 16 very tasty and a big stretcher not a lot of leaf but ton of medium flowers (Posted on 10/27/2020)
I've been growing for 20 years and have grown over 100 different strains in search for the best of the best. Gelato is an amazing strain. I grew two seeds and both plants were identical, which is a great sign of a stable strain. The buds are dense and the overall structure of the plant was great. While growing she went thru different smell stages. At first the sweetness was overpowering. Truly smelled like gelato or some other kind of candy or dessert. Then she smelled kind of like sweet skunk. Now that she's hanging and drying she smells like pure OG Kush dankness. I harvested her Oct. 15 which is a bit of a late harvest but she held up really well against the two frosts we had here in south-central Ontario ( just north of Brighton). Other plants had leaves that died from the frost whereas you can't even tell that Gelato went thru the same kind of conditions. No mold or rot whatsoever even with the dense buds. Highly recommend this strain if you're looking for dense, potent buds that hold up extremely well to the elements. (Posted on 10/18/2020)
Day 40 in flower and I see long spear shaped buds covered in resin that started very early and pilling on daily. This pheno stretched quite a bit and smells like GSC with cherry that comes on afterwards. Also, like islandgrower, I had another plant right beside it with spider mites and Gelato hasn’t been affected at all. I’ll be back with final review (Posted on 8/23/2020)
seeds popped within a day or two, they grew fast and strong , very bushy , nice hard buds, other plants in the garden out doors had mites, but not this girl , gr8 genes at work here! easy to grow indoor and out. typical complex plant in that the buds are not very large , but there is A LOT of medium size buds. 9 wks under a spectrum king LED (Posted on 7/21/2019)
Picked up 3 seeds, all germed within 24 hours ( glass of h2o methed). In terms of growth, all three are out pacing the others in the tent, strong plants so far, looking nice...will send more info once their a couple months old. (Posted on 4/16/2019)
