Germination Policy

We are proud to serve our customers with quality cannabis seeds, and we understand how frustrating it can be if your seeds do not germinate.

For this reason, we have created our Germination Policy.

This policy will apply to all seeds purchased directly from us (within a specific time frame).


  1. True North Seed Bank offers a guarantee of 85% germination rate (in countries where germination is legal).
  2. Only ONE claim per order. If you do not germinate all seeds from your order at the same time, the guarantee will only apply to the seeds claimed at the time (seeds germinated previously or after the initial claim has been submitted will not be considered).
  3. Germination claim must be submitted within 90 days from the delivery date of your order.
  4. Germination claims will only apply and be considered if you have followed our recommended methods of germination in our “Germination Guide”, and you can reasonably show they have been met - a good example would be an image/video of the seeds on a damp paper towel and/or an image/video of an appropriate container.
  5. If your claim is approved, replacement seeds will be sent (shipping fees will apply, and are not included in the replacement of seeds).
  6. Replacement seeds will be the SAME strain as the ones that did not germinate.


  • Before contacting us, please retry germination using our recommended methods. If germination still fails, please contact us to discuss further.
  • Do NOT throw out any seeds that do not sprout, as you may be asked to return them for further evaluation, as well as photos/videos MUST be provided upon the claim submission.
  • The germination guarantee will ONLY apply if you have followed our recommended methods in our “Germination Guide”.
  • Freebies, Clearance Items, orders placed with store credit, reshipment orders, and “BOGO” packs are NOT covered or eligible under this policy. Any “BOGO” packs included in your original order will be considered replacements for the non-germinated seeds in case of related issues.
  • Only seeds purchased directly from us will be covered. If you have purchased your seeds from a 3rd party retailer, (such as a store location) you must contact the venue where you purchased the seeds. If this location purchased the items from us directly, they will need to contact us on your behalf.


  • You planted the seeds directly into the soil.
  • You used a seed starter kit, rock wool, peat pellets or any other germination device.
  • You did not germinate the seeds using our recommended methods of germination - Please refer to our “Germination Guide”.


In the event of non-germinated seeds, please contact us. All germination claims must be submitted via ticket/email only.

If contacting us directly through our website, and filling out a contact form, please select “Germination” as the “Your Issue” option.

Please provide the following information when contacting us:

  • Your full name, email address, and order number.
  • The name of the strain(s) and number of non-germinated seeds (Example: White Widow Fem 3 seeds, Wedding Cake Fem 1 seed etc)
  • A DETAILED description of your germination methods
  • Attach photo(s)/Video(s) of the affected seeds (post-germination)

Please be advised that if the terms of this policy have not been met, the germination claim will not be honoured. No exceptions.
